Great little breakfast place on the main street though Mineral Point. Been here twice, just for breakfast. It will not disappoint. Two of us got omelettes that were fantastic. Watch the specials board too. My girlfriend had the cinnamon french toast and it was very good. Handmade homemade cinnamon buns are a big hit while they last.

Best pasty in the WORLD!!! I always but a dozen when in back in good old Iowa County seeing family. Been in Mineral Point forever so you know their doing it up right.

Best pasties ever

Really good food. We were hungry and pulled off the highway looking for a local diner. Their food is all made to order. This place has alot of history behind it also really neat stop if you're hungry and want to sit for a few.

Service was fine but do not ever order the pizza burger. Yuck and the "burger" wasn't even close to the size of the bun. Wishing I would have ordered breakfast...

Homemade food including comfort food. Friendly servers. The entrees created taste delicious. I've complimented chef twice before on eggs Benedict and steak entree with homemade mashed potatoes. Yummy!

Wonderful food and the atmosphere has a colorful small town look to it. Even the tea biscuits are too good to pass up.

My waitress was amazingly attentive. The pasty and bread pudding that came after this salad have me a taste of the culture of the town.

We ate at The Red Rooster on Sunday Morning before we left after spending our 31st anniversary weekend in Mineral Point. Our breakfast was so delicious and we were offered more coffee 3 times. Our server was excellent. We asked her about the Figgy Hobbins and she explained how her Mom made them. We brought two home and are looking forward to enjoying them for dinner dessert.

An absolute classic, and perfect for a trip to Mineral Point. Great fun to sit at the bar with a coffee and cornish pasty. Sadly, I heard that they're closing on May 28, 2018. Better get in there before then!

perfect warm lunch on a cool day

They were busy, so service was a little slow. But once we ordered, the food came quickly. My wife really enjoyed her figgyhobbin. It's a dessert there. We didn't try the pasty, since it sounded rather heavy and it was warm outside today.

Great place to eat!! Homemade foods! Mineral Points Best Hidden Secret Place, & it’s right on the Main St heading down town. Great Service! Closed on Tuesday for winter & they Serve Pasty everyday when open!! Breakfast is always great also. Highly recommended

Went to the Red Rooster for lunch with a friend. Had a cheeseburger and french fries and both were very good. Service was very good as well. Will come again in the near future.

Good food and a waitress who was actually conscious. The place itself is an ancient downtown building, old bank i believe. That forces the physical layout to be very long and narrow, they work with it well, minimal modernization of the space, 1 row of boothes and tables along one wall and a big breakfast bar in a long narrow u occupying the rest of the dining room.

Excellant home cooked meal, fast service and reasonably priced. Proportions were above average.w

The pasty was great. Should of had gravy but tasted very good and the figgy hobbin was delicious. Would recommend to anyone

I am now 82 years old and live in Las Vegas Nevada. When I was a child, we lived in Platteville. The night I graduated from eighth grade, I had my choice of any place we could go out for dinner and I chose the Pendarvis House in Mineral Point because they had Cornish pasty’s. That was in 1951. That is about 70 years ago. What finer recommendation can you get the voice from a man who was there 70 years ago and still thinks fondly of it.I also played basketball for Platteville High School and we faced Mineral Point twice a year because they were in our league., then called the SWAL.Bill Conklin
